Plot Synopsis

Survival expert Bear Grylls surprises Facebook followers, who have inspired him, with a chance to experience the wild firsthand. Participants share their remarkable stories while Bear helps them break out of their comfort zones and embrace the power of the great outdoors. Each episode features a different person, including:

Jennifer Varanini Sanchez (March 21): Jennifer, a Glamper mom of four - two of which have Down Syndrome - learns camping skills to impress her outdoor-loving family while Bear learns about her international quest that helped save lives.

Jonathon Blank (March 28): Former Recon Marine and war hero Jonathon lost both of his legs in Afghanistan, but his wild spirit lifts him to new heights. He takes on the wilderness with survival expert Bear Grylls and challenges everything you think you know about disability.

Dot Winkfield (April 4): Once homeless and a teen mom, Dot leaves the big city for a much-needed adventure alongside Bear Grylls. She's overcome life's biggest challenges but has never tackled the wild. Her emotional journey is a truly inspiring tale of survival.

Beth (April 11): When a 13-year-old Girl Scout needs help earning a primitive camping skills badge, Bear Grylls flies to the rescue...literally. Beth's wisdom for life and the outdoors is beyond her years, but nothing can prepare her for what challenges Bear has in store for this adventure.

On Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Noon ET, Facebook Watch released "Southern Discomfort," the season finale of FACE THE WILD. Having dropped out of school at 15 to help support his struggling family and courageously launching a nonprofit to help enrich the lives of other inner-city kids at 19, Brandon has broken through countless barriers but has never been in the great outdoors. A natural leader, Brandon hopes that this experience will inspire the many kids that he works that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
