Plot Synopsis

In present day New York, Simon Doonan, a window-dresser at Barneys, tells stories about his childhood to his boyfriend Sacha. During the late 1990s in Reading, Simon and his best friend Kylie dreamed of moving to London to be with the "beautiful people," but Simon's reality was that he lived with an alcoholic mother, an Irish plumber father, a blind aunt and his sister. Each episode focuses on how Simon acquired some of the things that help define him today -- his nose, a vase, some beads, a globe.
