Plot Synopsis

Hosted by real-life treasure hunters Rick and Marty Lagina, BEYOND OAK ISLAND is a one-hour docuseries that chronicles the greatest treasure hunts of the past, present and (perhaps) future, using a combination of interviews with treasure-hunters, historians and experts and on-location treasure hunts in progress -- sometimes with the Laginas themselves. From pirates such as Blackbeard and outlaws like Jesse James, to Aztec gold, priceless historical artifacts from American history and sunken treasure ships, BEYOND OAK ISLAND digs deep into the many treasure quests across the globe, revealing amazing new details and clues from past searches -- and in some cases, advancing the hunt. In the series opener, "Pirate Treasures," when a young treasure hunter tells Rick and Marty he is hunting for the long lost treasure of pirate Jean Lafitte, the brothers are so intrigued they send Matty Blake to assist in a dangerous dive to further the search.

On Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT, History Channel premiered "Montezuma's Treasure," a special episode of BEYOND OAK ISLAND. Marty's fascination is piqued when a fellow energy entrepreneur shares evidence that suggests his Utah ranch has been the Aztec hiding place of Montezuma's treasure for centuries.

BEYOND OAK ISLAND returned for its second season on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on History Channel. In the season opener, "The 1715 Treasure Fleet," Rick and Marty Lagina, along with Matty Blake, head to Florida and join Gary Drayton to hunt for millions in gold, silver and jewels from the shipwrecks of the famed 1715 Spanish Treasure Fleet. In the season's next episode, "Riverboat Riches," Marty Lagina and Matty Blake travel to Kansas City, Missouri, to assist river-boat enthusiast David Hawley as he searches for two 19th century wrecks loaded with lost riches and American history. Next, in "The Buried Loot of Sam Bass," the Laginas and Matty Blake help treasure hunters Donna McCauley and Gypsy Jewels search two hideouts in Mineral Springs, Texas where the legendary outlaw Sam Bass is believed to have stashed more than a million dollars in stolen gold.

Season 3 of BEYOND OAK ISLAND debuted on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on History Channel. From pirates and outlaws to Aztec gold and sunken treasure ships, Marty and Rick Lagina dig deep into the many treasure quests across the globe as they reveal amazing new details and clues from past searches that may even advance the hunt. In the season opener, "The Atocha's Emerald City," the Lagina Brothers and Matty Blake join the famous treasure-hunting family of the late Mel Fisher in Key West, Florida, to search for millions in emeralds from the legendary Atocha shipwreck. In the second episode, "The Riches of Poverty Island," Marty and Matty return to the eerie waters surrounding Poverty Island in Lake Michigan to search for a lost Civil War treasure worth an estimated $400 million.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT, History Channel premiered "North Carolina Gold," the Season 3 finale of BEYOND OAK ISLAND. Matty Blake travels to the swamps of North Carolina to help a father and son treasure hunting team excavate an old mining dredge believed to contain vast riches connected to America's first Gold Rush.
