Plot Synopsis

Hosted by BACHELORETTE couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, THE BIG D is a relationship series that sends divorcees to paradise to help them move on from their marriages and dive back into the dating pool with help from resident relationship expert Dr. Jada Jackson. Six divorced couples move into a tropical villa in Costa Rica together to re-learn how to date while looking for love with the other contestants in the house. But these newly-singles aren't doing it alone. They're joined by...their ex! The group takes part in revealing relationship ex-ercises designed to help the singles form connections, make peace with their former partners, and finally get over the issues holding them back from dating. Each episode, one person who isn't relationship material is eliminated. Jealous exes may try to send their rival home or perhaps even defend their exes' honor -- the possibilities are endless. The couple who ends the season in a committed relationship will be awarded $50,000. THE BIG D was scheduled to premiere on TBS on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT, but the cable channel announced on June 16 that it cancelled the series -- just three weeks before it was originally scheduled to debut. THE BIG D premiered on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network, with a simulcast on E!.

The exes are:

Ariel Lyndsey (Los Angeles, CA) & Blair Delgado (Clearwater, FL): Ariel and Blair were married for 4-1/2 years. Ariel left Blair after he cheated on her and while she's open to rekindling, Blair has moved on.

Casey Costa (Lake Tahoe, CA) & Brooks Peters (Lake Tahoe, CA): Casey and Brooks were married for two years. Brooks is still in love with Casey, but she's more than ready to date the other exes in the Big D house.

Alexis Nicole (Atlanta, GA) & Devon Wright (Charleston, SC): Alexis and Devon were married for a year. Strained relationships with in-laws and Devon's tendency to start conflicts tore them apart, but both are interested in a second chance with each other.

Dede Lewis (Boca Raton, FL) & Thakur Wint (Boca Raton, FL): Dede and Thakur were married for a year-and-a-half. Thakur is hopeful about winning back Dede's heart, but Dede is looking forward to a new chapter.

Ally Lee (Dallas, TX) & David Mims (Dallas, TX): Ally and Mims were married for five years. Ally was unfaithful to Mims, but is open to trying things again.

Gillian Messina (Wilmington, NC) & David Novello (San Diego, CA): Gillian and David were high school sweethearts and married for 4 years. The pandemic strained their relationship, which led to their divorce, but Gillian is having a hard time letting go.

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT, USA Network premiered "The Big Goodbye," the season finale of THE BIG D. The remaining two couples must prove why they deserve to win, and all of the exes return to choose the winning couple.
