Plot Synopsis

Produced by Bob Odenkirk and Ben Stiller, this half-hour sketch comedy series features both stand-alone and multi-act sketches that poke fun at real-life moments and cultural touchstones. From an alternate story about Steve Jobs and the rise of the personal computer to the tall tale about a group of residential roofers whose antics got them an American sitcom, each episode of THE BIRTHDAY BOYS includes approximately ten different scenes that take a skewed perspective on everyone's shared experiences. The Birthday Boys officially formed in 2007, when seven guys (Jefferson Dutton; Dave Ferguson; Mike Hanford; Tim Kalpakis; Matt Kowalick; Mike Mitchell; Chris VanArtsdalen) -- six of whom graduated from Ithaca College in New York -- joined the Upright Citizens Brigade after separately moving to Los Angeles. Then, after being discovered by Odenkirk, the comedy group made a name for itself at UCB LA and the Just For Laughs Festival. In addition to the show's stars, THE BIRTHDAY BOYS also welcomes Season 1 celebrity guests like: Ben Stiller; Laraine Newman; French Stewart; Nasim Pedrad; and more. THE BIRTHDAY BOYS returned for its second season on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:30pm ET/PT on IFC. The season opener, "Snobs and Slobs," features guest star Dana Carvey and comedy about a fashion designer, a man raised in nature, and a struggling indie rock band search for belonging.. On Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11:30pm ET/PT, IFC premiered the Season 2 finale of THE BIRTHDAY BOYS. In the season ender, which features guest star Corey Feldman, The Birthday Boys take a nostalgic look back at the greatest summer of their lives, with vignettes that follow them from street fights to secret gardens and hidden caverns.
