Plot Synopsis

BLUE AUGUST started as a month-long collection of programs about the wonders and mysteries of the aquatic -- from the majesty of our oceans to the critical issue of clean drinking water. Programming included: stand-alone documentaries; episodes of Planet Green series; and other shows. When the Planet Green channel changed its name to Destination America in 2012, the new network continued BLUE AUGUST programming -- but only with one week of shows and with a slightly different focus, by highlighting Americans who have dedicated their lives to preserving the open water. In 2012, the fourth annual BLUE AUGUST featured episodes of SWORDS: LIFE ON THE LINE, SWAMP LOGGERS, and LOBSTERMEN.
