Plot Synopsis
Executive produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, BMF is a drama series inspired by the true story of two brothers who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late 1980s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in this country. Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory's charismatic leadership, Terry "Southwest T" Flenory's business acumen and the fraternal partnership's vision beyond the drug trade and into the world of hip-hop would render the brothers iconic on a global level. Their unwavering belief in family loyalty would be the cornerstone of their partnership and the crux of their eventual estrangement. This is a story about love, kinship and capitalism in the pursuit of the American dream. In the series opener, "See It...Touch It...Obtain It," Meech avoids a street war by moving his crew, The 50 Boyz, to a new location; Meech and his brother Terry cook up a more potent batch of drugs that creates enough demand to help their family overcome the economic crisis.
The sophomore season of BMF premiered on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on Starz. The new chronicles the unconventional journey to success of the Flenory brothers, Demetrius Flenory "Big Meech" and Terry Flenory "Southwest Tee", who rose from the depths of poverty, navigating the war on drugs in Detroit, and became game changers in hip-hop and culture. Throughout the emotional season, the audience roots for the Flenory brothers during their pursuit of their American Dream, as they build a better life in a system that was stacked against them. The universal themes of family, faith and loyalty are explored both at home and on the streets. The brothers work to outmaneuver the government and expand BMF into a multi-state empire. Mo'Nique and Caresha "Yung Miami" Brownlee guest star in Season 2.
Season 3 of BMF debuted on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on Starz. In the new season, Meech moves to Atlanta to expand their empire, facing rival crews and crossing paths with burgeoning hip-hop legends, while Terry holds down the fort in Detroit, facing formidable rivals, old and new. BMF's dominance in the streets influences both music and culture, spreading from Atlanta, GA, up and down the eastern seaboard in the early 1990s. Meech and Terry pride themselves on being able to provide for their families, communities, and friends, though their youth prevents them from fully recognizing the real costs. Meanwhile, systemic and structural racism continues to fuel their quest for freedom: Freedom from poverty -- which the country's laws were designed to keep them in -- and freedom from any and every rule that dares to hold them back. The dynamic brother duo faces obstacles on all fronts but will stop at nothing to achieve their piece of the American dream. The Flenory brothers and the incredible and memorable characters they meet along the way, propel this fascinating coming-of-age story, unlike any you've seen before. Season 3 guest stars include Dominique "Lil Baby" Jones making his acting debut as Payne, NE-YO as Rodney 'Greeny' Green, 2 Chainz as Stacks, Saweetie as Keeya, and Cynthia Bailey as Gloria.
