Plot Synopsis

BODY BIZARRE features stories of individuals living with the most mysterious and incredible medical anomalies, and focuses on the transformative aspects of those inflicted as they undergo treatment. Each hour-long episode uncovers several cases spanning the globe of real but astonishing medical abnormalities that continue to stump the best doctors and experts, drawing viewers into a still unknown realm in medical science. From a young Nepalese man born with three legs and a bizarre birth defect that caused a Brazilian man's vertebra to twist so severely that his head is now upside down, to a rare syndrome that causes a family from a remote Swedish village to have insensitivity to pain, the series not only provides unprecedented access into the lives of these individuals as they share first-hand accounts of their daily struggles, but also explains the science behind each anomaly and celebrates the remarkable spirit of the individuals who have persevered.
