Plot Synopsis
Based on the books by Australian writer S. A. Wakefield and illustrator Desmond Digby, BOTTERSNIKES & GUMBLES is an animated series for kids (ages 6-9) that follows the fun-loving Gumbles, who bounce and play while staying away from the foul-smelling Bottersnikes, who live in a nearby junkyard. Using stealth, trickery, daring rescues and narrow escapes, the heroic Gumbles try to outwit the evil Bottersnikes in every episode. The Gumbles are fun, super agile and ingeniously smart thrill seekers who live in the coolest tree house imaginable, complete with a rusty old school bus. For Gumbles, being spanged is no laughing matter, because they lose their elasticity. The Bottersnikes are heavy, cowardly, lazy, masty, and just plain ugly creatures who hate Gumbles and live in Snike Hill, which is populated with rusty junk. The King Bottersnike is the heaviest of all -- so heavy that he sits on the others' heads when they don't listen. BOTTERSNIKES & GUMBLES had its world premiered on 7TWO in Australia on Friday, December 22, 2016 at 7:30am, and then Netflix released this series in the United States eight months later on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.
