BREAKING HOMICIDE is a two-hour docuseries that follows former Rhode Island Police Sergeant Derrick Levasseur and forensic psychologist Kris Mohandie as they answer the pleas of desperate families seeking help investigating the unsolved murders of their loved ones. Each episode provides fresh perspective and new hope to those who never gave up on the search for justice. Throughout the series, Levasseur and Mohandie travel to large cities and small hometowns across America as they investigate six cold cases, chasing down new clues hoping for a break in these decades-old crimes. From a serial killer haunting Honolulu who has never been caught, to the sadistic assault and murder of a girl from Levasseur's hometown in Rhode Island; each case explored is still open. Levasseur and Mohandie, along with the help of local law enforcement and victims' family members who never gave up, scrutinize one cold case from start to finish trying to find closure for loved ones. With the benefit of advanced technology, the investigators apply their unique talents and skills to meticulously dissect each piece of evidence, and in some cases, unearthing new leads. In the series opener, "Little Girl Lost," Kris and Derrick pay a visit to Derrick's hometown to investigate a case that continues to haunt the community. Who abducted seven-year-old Michelle Norris from a playground in 1988, killing her in the nearby woods? Clues point to the murderer being someone who lived in the neighborhood. Is he still there? And what clues does a mysterious letter hold? Derrick and Kris interact with old friends and potential suspects.

Season 2 of BREAKING HOMICIDE premiered on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery, with veteran police sergeant and P.I. Derrick Levasseur returning for the eight-episode new season. In the season opener, "Lost in the Woods," fun-loving 16-year-old Judy Rawlings of Asheboro, NC, vanished after a midnight ride with her neighbor. The community was shocked by Judy's disappearance, banding together to search for the missing teen and answer her family's desperate pleas. But their worst fears become reality when her body is discovered just miles from where she was last seen alive. Her death remained a mystery, as law enforcement hit dead end after dead end, leaving the case to go cold. Now, Levasseur teams up with local Asheboro law enforcement to examine the case with fresh eyes. Could someone in this small town hold the key to solving Judy's murder? Levasseur is determined to find out.
