Plot Synopsis

In this half-hour reality series, two comedians and brothers, Andrew and David Fung, travel across the United States in search of the best local cheap eats while spending no more than $50 a day in each city. The brothers meet chefs -- and foodie fans like themselves -- while gaining access to the kitchens and people behind the food they eat. They also learn hands-on how to make signature dishes from restaurant owners and chefs. In each 30-minute episode, the Fung brothers travel to a different city, including: Los Angeles, where they dine on pork belly tacos, one of a kind soup dumplings, a west coast take on lobster rolls and liquid nitrogen ice cream; New Orleans, where they feast on classics like gumbo and po boys and innovative new dishes like Louisiana shrimp corn dogs and foie gras beignets; San Diego, where they try the gold standard of California burritos, fresh seafood like charred Spanish octopus and raw oyster, and the king of all lobster mac and cheese dishes; Fort Worth, where they check out the cities best food trucks, chicken fried steak and fried chicken meatball sliders; and many more cities across America, like Tampa and Asheville. Shortly after premiering as WHAT THE FUNG?!, FYI renamed the series BROKE BITES: WHAT THE FUNG?!.

On Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 10-11pm ET, FYI premiered the season finale of BROKE BITES, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the night's first new episode (10pm), "New York: Fung Bros Each Dine on $50/day," the Fung Brothers dine on innovative fresh takes on New York classics like bagels and pizza. And they dig into incredible Asian dishes like ramen, dumplings and hand pulled noodles. Then, in the season finale (10:30pm), "Santa Fe: Fung Bros Each Dine on $50/day ," the Fung Brothers dine on the hottest chiles and the tastiest locally raised meat.
