Plot Synopsis

BUDDY VALASTRO'S CAKE DYNASTY is a one-hour docuseries that goes behind the scenes at Carlo's Bake Shop alongside Buddy and his extended family as he works to balance the demands of a rapidly expanding business empire and demanding home life. With the whole family involved, the business is growing with restaurants, nationwide shipping, automated cake vending, and more while still staying true to their roots--baking thousands of cakes, Italian specialty desserts, and cookies each day while also creating the most brain-busting, innovative cakes around. This season, Buddy tackles some of his biggest bakes to date including pieces celebrating the 50th anniversary of Secretariat's legendary win, Neil Patrick Harris's 50th birthday, the 20th anniversary of Wicked on Broadway, a massive anniversary cake for Caesars Palace, and many more. On top of it all, Buddy works to remain a devoted husband and father of four kids growing up and navigating their next steps in the family business and outside of it.

In the series opener, "Totally Wicked Cake," Buddy Valastro's small Hoboken bakery has expanded into an empire that includes a family-run factory creating thousands of treats and savory items along with mind-blowing custom cakes. When Buddy is tasked with making a 20th-anniversary cake for the cast of the Broadway show Wicked, his team struggles to create a life-sized masterpiece in only three days. Meanwhile, when Buddy's oldest son, Buddy Jr., reveals that he might prefer to skip college and come to work for his father, Buddy puts Junior through the paces to see if he's ready for a baker's life.

On Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT, A&E premiered "A Fair-ly Crazy Cake," the season finale of BUDDY VALASTRO'S CAKE DYNASTY. Buddy and the team embark on an enormous cake for the Meadowlands State Fair during the same week that a giant retailer tests Buddy's ability to produce 90,000 cakes per month for their nationwide stores! Buddy struggles with extreme shoulder pain as he juggles enormous pressure and Junior's looming decision on whether he wants to stay working at the factory or head off to college.
