Plot Synopsis

BUYING BACK THE BLOCK is a two-part docuseries that follows comedian Mike Epps and his wife Kyra, who have bought several homes on his childhood block in Indianapolis. The duo have already transformed an abandoned firehouse on the block into their stunning new family home. Now, their goal is to revitalize the struggling neighborhood and bring back the charm, community, and character that Mike valued growing up. In this two-episode series, the couple update each house, adding modern amenities and keeping the original charm, to create affordable and beautiful places for families to buy or rent. Driven by his passionate vision, Mike will be hands-on as he oversees the projects, including the overhaul of his grandmother's house, alongside his expert construction team. BUYING BACK THE BLOCK premiered on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 9-11am ET/PT on HGTV:

"We're In the Army" (9am): The first house Mike and Kyra aim to rescue is right next door to them, which they call the "Army House." One disaster after another, however, has put this home renovation in major jeopardy.

"Grandma's House" (10am): Up next on the block, Mike and Kyra aim to rescue his grandmother's former home, which holds a special place in Mike's heart. Now, the pressure is on Kyra to retain the memories while they renovate a 120-year-old home.
