Plot Synopsis

From showrunner Lisa Bloch, CATEGORY SIX chronicles an entire year's worth of the world's most epic storms -- from tornadoes in March in the U.S. to mudslides in December in Central America -- by following storm chaser Reed Timmer and his team, as they head straight into Mother Nature's fury to unravel these dangerous weather events as they happen. Near the beginning of the stay-at-home orders for the COVID-19 pandemic, on March 13, 2020 Timmer tweeted, "Just found out our new show has been suspended until April 3 due to CoronaVirus concerns, after 1 chase." One month later -- on April 15, 2020 -- Timmer tweeted, "production was postponed due to virus, which of course was a smart call. We will resume when it is safe! Storm chasing will return to television." The series is filming in Tornado Alley (from Texas to North Dakota).
