Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2007, DirecTV has hosted a flag football game during Super Bowl week, featuring Hollywood celebrities, A-list models, Playboy Playmates, former NFL players, and current football stars, as well as musical entertainment. The game has been held on sandy gridirons in the Super Bowl host city, as the stars and celebs played two 20-minute halves for the first six years, switching to four 10-minute quarters in 2013. Venues have included: Lummus Park (Miami Beach, FL) in 2007; South Bridge (Scottsdale, AZ) in 2008; Progress Energy Park (St. Petersburg, FL) in 2009; South Beach at 21st and 22nd streets (Miami Beach, FL) in 2010; Victory Park (Dallas, TX) in 2011; Victory Field (Indianapolis, IN) in 2012; Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World (New Orleans, LA) in 2013; and DTV SuperFan Stadium (Hudson River Park Pier 40) in 2014. The inaugural event, which was not televised, was held on Thursday, February 1, 2007. One year later, on Thursday, January 31, 2008, the 2nd annual game was broadcast live for the first time on DirecTV's 101 Channel. Starting with the 2009 game, DirecTV has aired the game live on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. Each event also has featured at least one musical act, usually performing after the game, including: New Found Glory in 2007; Josh Kelly and Fall Out Boy in 2008; LL Cool J in 2009; The All American Rejects in 2010; Maroon 5 in 2011; The Fray in 2012; Pitbull in 2013; and Paramore in 2014.

For CELEBRITY BEACH BOWL 2014, the following celebrities and football greats were scheduled to play: Chrissy Teigen; Adam Pally; Shay Mitchell; Scott Porter; Meghan Markle; Chace Crawford; Nina Dobrev; Ian Somerhalder; Jaimie Alexander; Peter Facinelli; Tom Arnold; Tracy Morgan; Hannah Davis; Cole Hauser; Kevin Frazier; Rocsi Diaz; Artie Lange; and Guy Fieri. Plus, they'll be joined by these athletes: NFL Hall of Famers Joe Montana, Deion Sanders and Warren Moon; and LaDainian Tomlinson, Tony Gonzalez, Jesse Palmer, Amani Toomer, and Jon Ritchie. DirecTV aired CELEBRITY BEACH BOWL 2014 live on Saturday, February 1, 2014 on its Audience Channel, beginning with pregame at 1pm ET, the game at 2pm ET, and the Paramore concert at 3:20pm ET. DirecTV repeated the entire three-hour event later the same day at 5:30pm ET and 8:30pm ET and then on Super Bowl Sunday at Noon ET. Plus, NBCSN aired a two-hour version of the event on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11pm ET.
