Plot Synopsis

CHEER is a reality series that follows the Central Jersey Allstars (CJA), a competitive cheerleading team in Kenilworth, NJ, led by Patty Ann Romero. Romero's senior team consists of 20 highly-conditioned athletes capable of jaw-dropping stunts and perfectly choreographed dance moves. When they're not practicing in their gym, these ordinary teenage girls must balance a grueling schedule of conditioning and competitions along with school and the pressures of everyday life. In this series, the CJA Senior 5 All-Star cheerleading team prepares for a competition in Dallas after a win in Philadelphia. Then, after a rough performance in Texas, the CJA girls endure a tough week of practice before heading to Hartford, where they'll compete to win $25,000 toward their expenses to travel to the World Championships. Plus, CHEER documents issues with parents, some of whom are upset that Patty Ann doesn't allow them to watch practices, as well as highlighting Patty Ann's role as mentor when she motivates, consoles, and inspires her girls.
