Plot Synopsis
Each weeknight, comedienne Chelsea Handler hosts this half-hour, late-night talk show, which features Handler's tongue-in-cheek commentary on the day's top entertainment stories, a roundtable of guests who discuss the latest Hollywood scoop, and one-on-one celebrity interviews. Each program starts with Handler's monologue, followed by the roundtable discussion, including three guests who are usually some combination of CHELSEA LATELY staff, comedians and actors. The episode closes with a celebrity interview and Handler's big finish -- either a one-liner or short comedy bit. Chuy Bravo, Handler's assistant and only other series regular, sits at the edge of the stage and sometimes participates in roundtable discussions, video segments and sketches. Past guests include Academy Award winners Diablo Cody and Gwyneth Paltrow, Jenny McCarthy, Guy Pearce, Jennifer Aniston, Diddy, Anne Hathaway, Sean William Scott, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg and T.I. In November 2011, E! Entertainment renewed CHELSEA LATELY through 2014, with Handler continuing as host and executive producer. Shortly before E! Entertainment made this announcement, CHELSEA LATELY attracted its largest audience ever when the program attracted 1.8 million viewers for an episode on October 10, 2011, immediately following Part 2 of Kim Kardashian's wedding event on KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 11pm ET (live)/PT (tape), E! presented the one-hour, live series finale of CHELSEA LATELY. After seven years and more than 1300 episodes, Chelsea says goodbye and some of her very famous friends help mark the occasion. Rap star 50 Cent stops by to perform with his group G Unit and reminisce with Chelsea, his former lover -- the first time they are together since breaking up. Then, some of Hollywood's biggest stars descend upon Stage 1 at Universal Studios for one last curtain call, including Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock. Then, Justin Theroux, Ben Falcone, Melissa McCarthy, Joe Manganiello, Leah Remini, Selena Gomez, Gerard Butler, Minnie Driver and Kristen Chenoweth, Trace Adkins, Avril Lavigne, James Van Der Beek, Rachel Bilson, Mary McCormack, Kelly Osbourne, Helen Hunt, Sheila E, Richard Marx, Kathryn Hahn, Johnny Knoxville, Tim Gunn, Anna Faris, Gabriel Iglesias, Chloe Grace Moretz, Buzz Aldrin, Sammy Hagar, Vanessa Hudgens, Sophia Bush, Jenny & Jason Biggs, Allison Janney, Alessandra Ambrosio, Kathy Griffin, Kevin Nealon, Marlee Matlin and David Hasselhoff all close the show with a musical number.
