Celebrating The Golden Era of the Cowboy, from the close of the Civil War years through the 1890s, this documentary series relives the rough and tumble period that has left an indelible mark on our nation's psyche. Using dramatic re-enactments, in-field experts, recovered letters, journals and books, as well as archaeological evidence, "Cowboys and Outlaws" focuses on the specific stories and characters that tell the story of the heroes of the American West.
