Plot Synopsis

Trained to solve crimes by examining the evidence, this team of forensic investigators is on the case 24/7 in Las Vegas, scouring scenes, collecting irrefutable evidence and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mysteries. After heading the Seattle Crime Lab, D.B. Russell came to the team as the new CSI Supervisor for the grave shift, taking over for Catherine Willows, who was promoted after Gil Grissom resigned. Russell is a family man and scientist, who is a "Left Coast" Sherlock Holmes who devours crime novels and looks at every crime scene as if it were a story waiting to be told. Willows, the team's former supervisor, is an investigator with a cop's instinct for reading human behavior, but soon after her promotion, she took a job with the FBI, moving to Quantico. When Willows left, she was replaced by new CSI Julie Finlay, a blood spatter expert who always speaks her mind, regardless of the consequences. Other CSI members include: Nick Stokes, the conscience of the team, who is often driven by his emotional connection to the victim to always get the job done; Sara Sidle, aka Mrs. Grissom, who is the moral compass of the team and is relentless in her pursuit of criminals; Greg Sanders, who was once an off-beat tech analyst and now is an experienced and intuitive crime solver; and Morgan Brody, an exile from the Los Angeles Crime Lab, who is the daughter of Undersheriff Ecklie. The CSI team members also work closely with: Captain Jim Brass, a seasoned detective and protector of CSI, sometimes to a fault; Dr. Albert Robbins, the ever-professional medical examiner; his wise-cracking assistant, David Phillips; and David Hodges, a tech of many talents who often rubs people the wrong way, but never fails to deliver. Season 14 premiered on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT on CBS. In the season opener, D.B. Russell leads the CSI team on a hunt to find Morgan and Ellie Brass following their kidnapping by a ritualistic killer. Plus, the Season 14 premiere featured these guest stars: Eric Roberts, James Callis, Tim Matheson, Annabella Sciorra, and Teal Redmann. Then, one month later on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT on CBS, CSI celebrated its 300th episode with original cast member Marg Helgenberger returning as Catherine Willows to help solve a cold case that has haunted the team for 14 years. In this milestone episode, the team investigated a homicide in the home of a reclusive former casino mogul who was a suspect in a similar crime in 2000, and the CSI team recalled who they were and where they were in order to solve the cold case. CSI returned for its fifteenth season on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on CBS. In the season opener, "The CSI Effect," Finlay must deal with a bomb planted in her car, while Russell gets a call from someone claiming to be the Gig Harbor killer. Plus, Mark-Paul Gosselaar guest stars as twins Jared Briscoe and Paul Winthrop.
CBS premiered the special two-hour series finale of CSI on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 9-11pm ET/PT. In the two-hour series ender, "Immortality," Grissom and Willows return to help the CSI team solve a catastrophic case that paralyzes all of Las Vegas. Past and current series stars scheduled to appear include William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Ted Danson, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Paul Guilfoyle, Wallace Langham, David Berman, Elisabeth Harnois and Jon Wellner. Also, Melinda Clarke returns as Lady Heather.
