DATING DEATH is a three-part documentary series that chronicles the disturbing history of Rodney Alcala, who targeted his victims by posing as a professional photographer. Despite brutally killing at least eight women between 1968 and 1979, Alcala consistently evaded detection. He was finally captured after appearing on the popular reality show THE DATING GAME, where he wound up winning a date with a contestant right amid his murder spree. DATING DEATH made its U.S. debut on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, as SundaceNow released all three episodes:

Episode 1: In 1968, Alcala flees Los Angeles after the rape and attempted murder of an 8-year-old. He then moves to New York and begins working at a kid's summer camp.

Episode 2: In 1977, posing as a successful photographer, Alcala hunts the streets for victims, killing multiple women. The next year, he goes on THE DATING GAME show.

Episode 3: In 1979 on Huntington Beach, a young girl goes missing and is later found dead in a wooded area. The only lead is a sketch composite that resembles Alcala.

DATING DEATH made its U.S. linear television debut on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on SundanceTV.
