Plot Synopsis

In each episode, four chefs compete in three rounds of culinary challenges at a different state fair in America, as they try to create new dishes, impress a panel of judges, and avoid elimination on their way to winning the Golden Corndog. In three elimination rounds -- Signature Dish, Fried Food, and Judges' Choice -- contestants display their expertise in creativity, marketability, and skill level, as they make culinary state-fair masterpieces like Elvis on a Stick, Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, Deep Fried Cheeseburgers, Deep Fried Mac-and-Cheese Balls, Double Stuffed Pizza and Fried Cream-Cheese Cinnamon Rolls. The three judges on the panel are: Butch Benavides, a chef and restaurant owner, whose crazy concoctions include fried candy bars, chicken-fried cactus bites and deep-fried bacon cinnamon rolls; Abel Gonzalez, a Dallas native, who is known for deep-fried butter, deep-fried peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwiches, and deep-fried jambalaya; and Jim Stacy, an Atlanta foodie, who perfected the Bananas Foster Corndog and invented the Fryinstein Monster.

On Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, Destination America aired the Season 2 premiere of DEEP FRIED MASTERS with all three judges returning for a second season. In the season opener, "Minnesota Fair," features Pumpkin Pie Ball, Dynamite Dog and Fireballs! at the Great Minnesota Get-Together in Falcon Heights, MN. In subsequent weeks, the judges head to the Texas State Fair and fairs in Kansas, Oklahoma, and more.
