Plot Synopsis
Executive produced by Jason Sudeikis and series stars and creators Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson, DETROITERS is a half-hour comedy series that focuses on Sam And Tim, two real-life friends from Detroit, who star as small-time ad men in the Motor City. They may not be Detroit's best ad men, but they're sure as hell Detroit's best friends. Whatever they do, they do it together. And no matter what happens, Tim and Sam's love for each other and their city never wavers. Sudeikis also appears in a narrative arc as a successful automotive executive whom Richardson and Robinson relentlessly pursue in an effort to land their first big-time client. The series opens with Sam and Tim trying to secure a big ad campaign with the Chrysler brand, resulting in a disaster. They also allow their young assistant Lea to finish a hot-tub commercial on her own, which ends in a surprising success for the client. Guest stars across the first season include Obba Babatunde, Michael Che, Comedian CP, Steve Higgins, Richard Karn, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin Nash, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Cecily Strong, Trick Trick, George Wallace and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Season 2 of DETROITERS premiered on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as Comedy Central debuted back-to-back new episodes. In the second season, Tim and Sam work with bigger clients including the Michigan Science Center; Sam pursues new romantic interests; Tim's brother starts working at Cramblin Duvet and has a disruptive effect on the office; and the guys produce an ad with their hero, legendary Detroit news anchor, Mort Crim. The ten-episode second season guest stars include Tim Meadows, Bobby Moynihan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Faizon Love, Amber Ruffin, Jerry Minor, Conner O'Malley, Nora Dunn, Mort Crim, and University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh.
