Plot Synopsis

Inspired by a true story and based on author, showrunner, and executive producer Daria Polatin's book of the same name, DEVIL IN OHIO is an eight-episode limited series that centers on hospital psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis, who shelters a mysterious cult escapee, turning her world upside down as the strange girl's arrival threatens to tear her own family apart. The story opens after a teen girl with a strange wound is found in Amon County, Ohio, where she is taken to the hospital in a nearby town and put in Dr. Suzanne Mathis' care. Mae adjusts to life with the Mathis family while Suzanne tries to find her a foster home. Detective Alex Lopez makes an unsettling discovery. After enrolling in Jules' school, Mae attracts attention from the newspaper editor. Suzanne reaches out to Mae's parents. Peter asks a friend for help. All eight episodes of DEVIL IN OHIO dropped on Friday, September 2, 2022 on Netflix.
