DEVIL'S ADVOCATE: THE MOSTLY TRUE STORY OF GIOVANNI DI STEFANO debuted in the United States as three one-hour installments on MSNBC: two episodes on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 10pm ET/7pm PTand the finale one week later on Sunday, June 12 at 10pm ET/7pm PT. This docuseries follows famed attorney Giovanni Di Stefano and his journey to disgraced conman. The series explores Di Stefano's rise as a lawyer "representing" the who's-who of the criminal world -- from Charles Manson to Saddam Hussein -- and the epic investigation that unraveled the true identity he hid behind schemes, deception and lies.

The story opens with Di Stefano helping to overturn a landmark confiscation order allowing Britain's richest criminal, John "Goldfinger" Palmer, to keep 33 million pounds in ill-gotten gains. City of London detective DC Jerry Walters investigates a single fraud complaint that quickly snowballs into an epic cat-and-mouse chase. A sprawling, five-year-long international investigation results in Di Stefano's arrest...but just as DC Jerry Walters catches his man, Di Stefano tries to turn the tables with bold new claims about his past.
