Plot Synopsis
Martin Clunes stars as surly and self-centered Dr. Martin Ellingham in this beloved British drama. After developing a fear of blood, Martin, formerly a hotshot surgeon, is forced to change careers and relocate to the charming town of Portwenn, where he clashes with the village's quirky inhabitants.
On Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 5pm ET/2pm PT, Acorn TV released the U.S. premiered of DOC MARTIN's ninth season, releasing the first episode. Subsequent Season 9 episodes were released weekly on Thursdays at 5pm ET. In the season opener, "To the Lighthouse," an inspector from the General Medical Council arrives to monitor Martin's practice as a requirement following his tribunal hearing. Louisa tries to make a good first impression, but Martin hates having another doctor in the surgery.

The tenth and final season of DOC MARTIN made its U.S. debut on Monday, October 17, 2022, as Acorn TV released the first two episodes. For the last time in this final season, Martin Clunes returns to Cornwall to play everyone's favorite grumpy medic, Dr. Martin Ellingham, the GP with a brusque bedside manner and a phobia of blood. Caroline Catz plays Doc Martin's wife, Louisa Ellingham, who resigned from her job as headmistress at the local school to pursue a new career in child counseling. Also returning for the finale are Dame Eileen Atkins who plays Doc Martin's formidable Aunt Ruth, Ian McNeice as Bert Large, Joe Absolom as Bert's son Al, John Marquez as PC Joe Penhale, Jessica Ransom as the doctor's receptionist Morwenna Newcross and Selina Cadell as pharmacist Mrs. Tishell.
