Plot Synopsis

THE DROPOUT is an eight-episode limited series that tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world's youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? The series opens with Elizabeth Holmes, an optimistic and determined young woman, dropping out of Stanford to found a promising new blood testing startup. In need of money, Elizabeth brings her fledgling technology to the venture capitalists of Silicon Valley. In Switzerland, she is forced to make a difficult decision. As Theranos rapidly expands, Elizabeth's technology struggles to keep pace and members of the board become increasingly wary of her secretive behavior. The first three episodes of THE DROPOUT debuted on Thursday, March 3, 2022 on Hulu, with a new installment dropping each Thursday through April 7.
