Plot Synopsis
FAMILY KARMA is a one-hour reality series that the lives of seven young Indian-American friends, who bonded by their strong cultural ties and vibrant Miami social lives while growing up in traditional, multi-generational households. While their parents and grandparents instill cherished customs, these adult children are drifting more towards the "American Way," and the two worlds collide in the most unexpected ways. These friends are determined to live life to the fullest and navigate the pressures of adulthood, while maintaining their deep-rooted connection to the Indian culture. The group includes:
- Anisha recently moved back in with her parents after spending over 10 years in the cutthroat fashion industry. While she is focused on carrying on her family legacy of entrepreneurship, her parents continue to focus on her single status in hopes of her settling down.
- After coming out in his 20s to the surprise of his family, Amrit is back home after a stint of living in Chicago with his boyfriend. As he works to grow his Chicago law firm's business in Miami, his family hopes that they can influence him to take the traditional next steps in his long-distance relationship.
- Brian is a playboy whose parents have always wanted him to settle down with a nice Indian girl. When he starts seeing his best friend, and wing woman, Monica in a whole new light, he worries that his window has passed and he's been friend-zoned.
- Having weathered two divorces, glamorous single mom Bali straddles the line of hanging out with her friends in their 20s and 30s, while maintaining relationships with their mothers. Now in a serious relationship with her long-distance boyfriend O'Malley, she is hoping that the third time's a charm.
- After spending most of her life trying to be the "perfect Indian girl" to make up for the stigma of her parent's divorce, Monica is ready to start sticking up for herself, much to Brian and her friends' surprise.
- Self-admitted "man-child" Vishal has been engaged to his fiance for three years, but is living at home until they finally get married. Ready to make their engagement official in the eyes of Indian culture, he needs the approval of his intimidating soon-to-be mother in law to plan the traditional ring ceremony as the next step on their way to marriage.
- Shaan, the youngest and super ambitious member of the group has already started his own business and moved in with his girlfriend. Will Shaan surprise everybody and be the first in the group to get married and start a family?
Season 2 of FAMILY KARMA premiered on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 9-10:15pm ET/PT on Bravo, with Anisha Ramakrishna, Amrit Kapai, Bali Chainani, Brian Benni, Monica Vaswani, Shaan Patel, and Vishal Parvani returning for a new season. They are joined by newcomers Dillon Patel and Rish Karam. Anisha makes an important decision for her future that breaks family and cultural tradition, but she hopes her family will respect her choice and support her. Amrit and his boyfriend Nicholas have their own place in Miami and are looking forward to building a life together. Before Amrit can truly settle down, he needs the blessing of the family matriarch. Bali balances being a mother to her 19-year-old daughter and a friend to all as she jumps between hanging out with the Aunties and their kids. In her personal life, Bali's relationship with O'Malley continues to blossom. Brian is finally over his childhood best friend, Monica, and has found love with a new woman... also named Monica. Is this resident playboy ready to settle down? Monica and Brian are officially in the friend-zone, but her love life is red hot with another childhood sweetheart, Rish. As their romance gets more serious, so does her desire to bring her estranged parents together. Dillon, Anisha's BFF and Shaan's younger brother, returns to Miami and stirs the pot with some interesting rumors that rub the group the wrong way. With his girlfriend finishing law school, Shaan, the oldest member of the Patel family, is feeling the pressure to get married and have kids. After nine years of dating, Vishal and Richa are at a standstill. Struggling to handle his evolving relationship, Vishal's behavior may cause him to lose the love of his life.

Season 3 of FAMILY KARMA debuted on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 9pm on Bravo. Amrit Kapai, Anisha Ramakrishna, Bali Chainani, Brian Benni, Monica Vaswani, Rish Karam, and Vishal Parvani all return. In the new season:
- Amrit and his fiance, Nicholas, gear up to tie the knot in the first elaborate Indian gay wedding in their community, but they confront the difficulties of planning an interracial same-sex marriage.
- Anisha has found Mr. Right, but her focus on him has put a strain on the relationship with her circle of friends. She returns to Miami in hopes of making amends, but not everyone is on board.
- Bali and O'Malley are stronger than ever, but an ultimatum from Bali's ex-husband forces her to make a life-changing decision. She continues to balance her life as a mother and friend to the group and their mothers, better known as the Aunties.
- Brian is once again single and ready to mingle. While on the search for the girl of his dreams, he's also taking steps to be the man he wants to be, which may include leaving the nest for good.
- Monica is considered the "perfect Indian girl" by her community and is ready to take her relationship with Rish to the next level. However, a growing secret among her friends threatens their future together.
- Rish has been friends with Monica since childhood and, unlike most twentysomethings in his community, he lives on his own. He is eager to give Monica the assurance she wants, but in his own time.
- After 10 years of dating and three engagements, Vishal and Richa are finally ready to walk down the aisle. Their families plan the Bollywood wedding of their dreams, and Vishal plans to party like its 1999, which causes both his and Richa's moms to worry. Vishal lives by the definition of "work hard and play harder," and while he's thriving professionally, he may need to hang up the "life of the party" title for his new role as husband.
