Plot Synopsis

Based on Isaac Asimov's book series of the same name, FOUNDATION follows revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hari's claims about the impending fall of the Empire, the ruling Cleons -- a long line of emperor clones -- fear their grasp on the galaxy may be weakening as they're forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their legacy forever. This group of exiles soon discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it. The first two episodes of FOUNDATION dropped on Friday, September 24, 2021 on Apple TV+, with the streaming service releasing a new episode each Friday through November 19.

Season 2 of FOUNDATION premiered with one new episode on Friday, July 14, 2023 on Apple TV+, which releases a new installment each Friday through September 15. More than a century after the Season 1 finale, tension mounts throughout the galaxy. As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy Empire from within. Hari, Gaal and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation has entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire.

On Friday, September 15, 2023, Apple TV+ released "Creation Myths," the Season 2 finale of FOUNDATION. Gaal, Salvor, and Hari chart a new path forward on Ignis. Demerzel heads to Trantor, taking actions that will change Empire forever.
