Plot Synopsis

In the ultimate summer vacation, celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis jets off to her home country of Italy to celebrate authentic cooking and enjoy family adventures. Inspired by the rich traditions of the region and her family's signature approaches to time-honored dishes, Giada prepares bountiful meals for the clan while honoring their beloved traditions. This 13-episode, half-hour series opens with Giada arriving in Italy and, after opening up the holiday house, she heads into Sorrento to stock up on essential Italian ingredients. Then, Giada returns home to prepare a light meal inspired by the local goods, including Grilled Treviso with Citrus Bagna Cauda, Pan-Seared Branzino with Tomato and Capers, and Fresh Citrus with Gelato and Almond Cookies. No stranger to Giada's shows, Giada's Aunt Raffy is on hand as well. She and Giada will explore their family's treasured recipe book, and in later episodes, the familial feasts continue.

Season 2 of GIADA IN ITALY premiered on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Noon ET/PT on Food Network, as Giada travels back to her birthplace for a summer in beautiful Florence, Italy filled with family, friends and of course, authentic Italian cuisine. In the season opener, "Tuscan Lunch: An Affair of the Heart," Giada arrives in Florence, Italy and heads straight to the local market, where she shops and introduces the local cuisine. She celebrates the hearty northern Italian food by preparing a Tuscan-style lunch to share with friends that are visiting from the United States. Giada's menu includes her spin on Bistecca alla Fiorentina, White Bean and Cavalo Nero and a bottle of local Chianti, topped off with a classic Tuscan dessert of biscotti and sweet wine.

The third season of GIADA IN ITALY premiered on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 11:30pm ET/PT on Food Network. In the seaosn opener, "The Flavors of Capri," Giada heads to Capri, a picturesque island off Italy's Amalfi Coast where she and her family have vacationed for many years. In this special spot, Giada enjoys lunch with her daughter, Jade, and highlights the flavors of the island in her menu of Aglio E Olio with Peas and Prosciutto, Fritto Misto, Mista Salad and Lemon Crepes with Almond Mascarpone.
