Plot Synopsis
GRAVES is a half-hour, single-camera dramedy that tells the story of President Richard Graves, a former two-term POTUS as he embarks on a Don Quixote-like quest to right the wrongs of his administration and reclaim his legacy 25 years after leaving the White House. With topics ranging from immigration to gay rights, to foreign policy to public funding for arts and sciences, Graves holds nothing sacred as he unspools some of his administration's proudest victories. His enlightenment takes place just as his wife, Margaret, decides it's finally time for her to pursue her own political ambitions. Meanwhile, Graves' daughter, Olivia, tries to find her identity after separating from her wealthy husband, which proves challenging because she was the "perfect" First Daughter. Season 2 of GRAVES premieres Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as EPIX debuts back-to-back new episodes. The second season finds former President Richard Graves turning inward in search of the man he used to be before he was President. This journey coincides with wife Margaret's Senate campaign, as the former First Lady attempts to build her own political legacy at the exact moment that her husband is tearing his down; and his assistant, Isaiah Miller's search for new direction after taking a bullet for the President in the Season 1 finale. The season opens with these two episodes: "Half a World Gone Mad" (10pm): Almost recovered since taking a bullet, Isaiah drives to Taos, where former President Richard Graves has retreated to write his autobiography; the former First Lady competes in a primary election; Jeremy embraces success as a TV talk-show host. "In His Labyrinth" (10:30pm): Graves takes Isaiah on an elk-hunting expedition; Olivia meets with a "mandoula" to consider having a home birth. Jeremy gets advice from a snarky reporter as his TV talk show goes nightly; Samantha is reminded of her abandoned aspirations.
