Plot Synopsis
Hosted by Van Lathan and executive produced by 50 Cent & Mona Scott-Young, HIP HOP HOMICIDES is a one-hour documentary series that explores the staggering number of murders in the Hip Hop community. From Pop Smoke to XXXtentacion, the series attempts to uncover the truth behind these shocking crimes. Examining the facts and exploring leads in the hope of finally providing loved ones and fans with the answers they seek. The streets were talking, and no one was listening...until now. The season opener tells the story of rising star Pop Smoke, who is gunned down in what was first thought to be a "robbery gone wrong." The second episode focuses on Chicago drill artist King Von, who was shot to death in a fight he started outside an Atlanta night club. The third installment asks the question if the murder of Magnolia Shorty was a crime of passion or a gang-related hit.
