Plot Synopsis

Inspired by the reporting of young investigative journalist Hilde Lysiak, HOME BEFORE DARK is a dramatic mystery series that follows Hilde, who, as a young girl, moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father left behind. While there, her dogged pursuit of the truth leads her to unearth a cold case that everyone in town, including her own father, tried hard to bury. Hilde learns more about Erie Harbor's secrets. Her father, Matt, is forced to face his past and reconnect with his own father. Chasing down a dangerous lead brings Hilde face-to-face with a potential suspect. Matt's run-in with an old friend spirals out of control. On Sunday, January 19, 2020 -- three months before the series premiere -- Apple renewed HOME BEFORE DARK for a second season. Apple TV+ released the entire 10-episode first season of HOME BEFORE DARK on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.

On Friday, June 11, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Apple TV+ released the first episode of HOME BEFORE DARK's second season. A new episode drops each Friday through August 13. In Season 2, when a mysterious explosion hits a local farm, reporter Hilde Lisko begins an investigation that will lead her to fight a powerful and influential corporation - with the health of her family and Erie Harbor in the balance.
