Plot Synopsis

HOMICIDE CITY is a one-hour docuseries that takes a deep dive into the stories of unforgettable murders from major American cities. As told by the veteran detectives who have seen it all, these are the stories they will never forget. On Monday, January 1, 2018 at 4pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered a single sneak-peek episode of HOMICIDE CITY, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In the sneak peek, "Society Hill Slaying," when Philadelphia jewelers Patty and Richard Zimmerman are found executed in the Society Hill townhome, police suspect a robberty gone wrong. But, when they discover nothing has been taken, they realize the motive may be far more sinister. For the official series premiere at 10pm ET/PT on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, Investigation Discovery debuted "A Manager's Murder." Five months before Philly restaurant manager John Thurberg is to be married, his fiance is devastated to learn of his murder at work. The motive is initially not clear, but when police question employees, they uncover a web of secrets and lies.

The sophomore season of HOMICIDE CITY premiered on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Family Tragedy," when 18-month-old Devon Manderac's body is found in a park outside Philly, police suspect the parents; but when her father calls looking for both the toddler and her mom, police quickly learn the case is more horrific and tragic than they imagined.

Season 3 of HOMICIDE CITY premiered on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Tragedy Strikes Lorena's," a birthday ends in tragedy when the beloved Nunez family is brutally murdered in their corner store. The triple-homicide orphans two girls and leaves detectives in the dark until a chance encounter breathes new life into the case.
