Plot Synopsis

HUMAN PLANET highlights how people survive in Earth's most extreme environments, showing the complex, profound and challenging relationship between humankind and nature. Filmed in high-definition over four years and in more than 70 locations, in each one-hour episode this series showcases a particular habitat, including: rivers and oceans; mountains; grasslands and jungles; and deserts. The sixth episode features people living life at the extremes -- in remote valleys, on treacherous cliffs, during flooding monsoon rains and inside the urban jungle. Discovery aired the U.S. premiere of this six-part series, showing back-to-back episodes on consecutive Sundays at 8pm ET/PT, starting on April 10, 2011.
