Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Gio Benitez, I SURVIVED A CRIME is a half-hour docuseries that explores different survivors' stories and analyzes their choice of avoiding confrontation to increase the likelihood of survival or fighting back as a last resort. Survivors join Benitez to reflect on the incidents and have their voices heard. Alongside the testimonials, videos captured on smart security systems, hidden cameras, cell phones, and dash cams are highlighted and analyzed to help understand the events that took place. The series explores the difficult and split-second decisions a person must face when confronted with an act that threatens their life, safety or liberty. On Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 10-11pm ET/PT, A&E debuted back-to-back new episodes for the series premiere:

10pm: A local trip becomes a harrowing ordeal for one family when they're surrounded by an angry mob that attacks their vehicle; a laundromat owner is beaten by unruly patrons from the business next door; a property manager is confronted by a gunman.

10:30pm: A thief with a knife and a big idea meets a store employee and his bigger blade; a ride share driver has his evening shattered as gunfire rips through his truck; a devious plot involving a bank teller and an ATM lead to a near death encounter.

Season 2 of I SURVIVED A CRIME debuted on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 10-11pm ET/PT on A&E. In the season opener (10pm), a man brutally attacks multiple people during an auto store robbery; a woman with an unusual weapon fends off an alleged serial thief; a woman is carjacked by a wanted fugitive in the middle of a shootout with police. Then, in the second episode (10:30pm), a motorist in road rage overdrive runs down a woman photographing his license plate; a woman's ex-boyfriend tries to storm her home and is gunned down; several women at a fast food restaurant riot after being charged extra for special sauce.
