Plot Synopsis

Based on the results of internet voting, this series counts down the most extreme roller coasters in the world. Each 30-minute episode features four coasters in a single category, including these American rides in Season 1: "G-Force Giants," highlighting Medusa (Six Flags; Vallejo, CA), SheiKra (Busch Gardens; Tampa, FL), Afterburn (Carowinds; Charlotte, NC) and Apollo's Chariot (Busch Gardens; Williamsburg, VA); "Hang 'em High," showing Manta (Sea World; Orlando, FL), Montu (Busch Gardens; Tampa, FL), Alpengeist (Busch Gardens; Williamsburg, VA) and Aftershock (Silverwood; Coeur d'Alene, ID); "Splintering Speedsters," showcasing Thunderhead (Dollywood; Pigeon Forge, TN), El Toro (Six Flags; Jackson, NJ), Beast (King's Island; Cincinnati, OH) and Voyage (Holiday World; Santa Claus, IN); "Wrong Way Up," featuring Kraken (Sea World; Orlando, FL), Wild Eagle (Dollywood; Pigeon Forge, TN), Hydra the Revenge (Dorney Park; Allentown, PA) and Vortex (King's Island; Cincinnati, OH); "Extreme Heights," focusing on Intimidator (Carowinds; Charlotte, NC), Kingda Ka (Six Flags; Jackson, NJ), Millennium Force (Cedar Point; Sandusky, OH) and Diamondback (King's Island; Cincinnati, OH); and "Speed," hyping Xcelerator (Knott's Berry Farm; Buena Vista, CA), Bizarro (Six Flags; Agawam, MA), Desperado (Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino; Primm, NV) and Top Thrill Dragster (Cedar Point; Sandusky, OH). For its second season, renamed INSANE COASTERS: WORLD DOMINATION, the series went outside of the United States to find the world's most outrageous coasters -- from the world's fastest roller coaster in Abu Dhabi (149 mph!) and the world's tallest wooden coaster in Germany (197 feet). Season 2 debuted on the Travel Channel on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 8:30pm ET/PT, with the first of seven new episodes.

INSANE COASTERS: WORLD DOMINATION returned for its seven-episode third season on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 7pm ET/PT, as the Travel Channel aired back-to-back new episodes of this series. In the Season 3 premiere, "Tilting Terror," INSANE COASTERS rolls into Texas for the tallest steel wooden coaster in the world, an insane 90 degree tilting drop in Taiwan, a camelback machine in Missouri and the man of steel in Spain. Then, in the night's second episode, "Inverted Woodie," this series takes a ride on an inverting wooden coaster in travels to Missouri, a dizzying 8-inversions coaster in Guatemala, a 228-foot plunge in Pittsburgh and an insane bottomless coaster in Taiwan.
