Plot Synopsis
THE INSIDE STORY is a four-part documentary that takes viewers on INSIDE THE NBA's journey that started in 1989, chronicling its evolution into a cultural phenomenon. Each episode reveals untold stories that highlight the the four personalities -- Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal -- while also exploring their uncanny ability to continuously entertain and inform viewers. The documentary series also demonstrates how the show's common thread of togetherness has helped them survive some of the toughest times. Episodes of THE INSIDE STORY debut on four consecutive nights from Thursday, March 4 through Sunday, March 7, 2021 on TNT:
"Ernie Johnson: The Traffic Cop" (Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 11pm-12:30am ET/8-9:30pm PT): INSIDE THE NBA hits the air in 1989 and Ernie Johnson quickly becomes the perfect host to lead an all-star cast of Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal through a unique combination of intense debates and unhinged hilarity.
"Kenny Smith: The Role Player" (Friday, March 5, 2021 from 9-10:30pm ET): Everyone has a role on INSIDE THE NBA. From analyst Kenny Smith to the behind-the-scenes characters that make the show unique, an idea can come from anywhere.
