Plot Synopsis

INTERVENTION: THE HEROIN TRIANGLE is an event series that follows addicts and their families suffering at the hands of the national opioid crisis. INTERVENTION usually features stand-alone stories, but this series chronicles the interconnected stories of people living in a cluster of communities within the affluent Atlanta suburbs known as "The Heroin Triangle," highlighting the desperate need for support and help during this national drug emergency. This series focuses on the journey of those plagued by their opioid addictions and their families who are left to pick up the pieces, as well as the city officials who are on the ground fighting as they attempt to intervene and save the lives of those affected as well as help heal the community. Veteran interventionists Candy Finnigan, Ken Seeley, and Donna Chavous partner with interventionist and Georgia native, Heather Hayes, as well as new team member, Michael Gonzales as they face the biggest challenge of their careers and attempt to help these victims of addiction. In the two-hour series opener, Tiffany and Billy, a volatile couple living out of their car, receive a sizable tax return that sets them up to score a large of amount of heroin. Their addiction threatens to destroy the family they're building. As a homeless and gay man, Tracey faces unique challenges as he spends his days hopping busses and hiding out in bathrooms stalls shooting heroin. Zac's a free-spirit but his musical gifts are undermined by his crippling heroin addiction. Interventionist Heather Hayes enlists the help of her colleague Donna Chavous to further investigate the city's handling of the epidemic.

On Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT, A&E premiered the finale of INTERVENTION: THE HEROIN TRIANGLE, immediately following an eight-hour marathon (1-9pm) that featured encore presentations of all earlier episodes. In the finale, David and Kiersten's intervention hits a roadblock when David changes his mind about getting help, and Interventionist Donna Chavous struggles to get him back on board for treatment. Taylor endures a trip to the dentist, who deals with several infected teeth -- a painful side effect of Taylor's drug habit. Then, with the help of Heather Hayes, Taylor's family intervenes on her. We check in with Toni, Allen, and Angela, to see their progress in recovery. As 90 days in The Heroin Triangle winds down, our interventionists reflect on their time there and share what they've learned about the addicts, their families, and the community.
