Whether he's learning how to brandish a bullwhip like Indiana Jones, mastering the art of high-speed getaway driving, or mixing up exotic cocktails with Hollywood superstars, host Josh Gates chats with experts and celebrities, while reliving past expeditions and delving deeper into other Discovery Channel programming.

JOSH GATES TONIGHT debuted as a one-hour special on Earth Day 2020 (Wednesday, April 22), as Gates interviewed a variety of celebrity guests including Joel McHale, Mark Rober, Jonathan Scott, Drew Scott, Dr. Sandra Lee, Jeb Corliss, Jason Hawes, Captain Keith Colburn and environmental experts including Forrest Galante and Luke Tipple about their commitment to preserving our precious planet Earth. In addition, Josh re-lives some of his favorite adventures at natural wonders around the Earth including Victoria Falls, Mt. Everest, Greenland, South America and more. Viewers also learned Earth Day hacks to Green Our Homes and make self-isolation eco-friendlier while getting an inside look at methods to keep the Earth healing when we come back into the world.

Two weeks later -- Wednesday, May 6, 2020 -- JOSH GATES TONIGHT debuted as a weekly series to share updates and unseen footage of his worldwide adventures. He continued to interview experts from across the globe to provide additional insights into past expeditions and dive deeper into some of Discovery Channel's adventure programming with video calls from the series' stars.

Season 2 of JOSH GATES TONIGHT premiered on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT on Discovery. In the new season, Gates is joined by celebrity guests, including Matthew McConaughey (who discusses his some of his most thrilling adventures and his new book "Greenlights") as well as Joe Manganiello, Cheryl Hines, and Apollo astronaut Charlie Duke. Gates also continues to safely adventure while inviting viewers along for the journey. Josh floats in zero-gravity in a specially designed plane performing aerial maneuvers. He also tries his hand at mechanical mortal combat by piloting a robot in the infamous BattleBots arena. In the season opener, "The Gates Files," Gates heads back into the world for a night of big mysteries and bigger guests. Josh welcomes Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, joins EXPEDITION X's Phil Torres and Jessica Chobot on their latest adventure, and talks to Dean Haglund of THE X FILES.

The third season of JOSH GATES TONIGHT debuted on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery. In the season opener, "Josh to the Future," Josh Gates is back (to the future) with his co-star from EXPEDITION: BACK TO THE FUTURE, Christopher Lloyd; THE OFFICE's Craig Robinson; and Tiffany Beers, who created the real-life self-lacing sneakers and a field trip that leads to time travel. In this run of all-new episodes, Josh is also joined by Kevin Bacon, Craig Robinson, Gabriel Iglesias, Haley Joel Osment, Giancarlo Esposito and Larry the Cable Guy, and many more. Josh also continues adventuring as only he can -- attending a race car academy, becoming a Hollywood stunt man for a day, and going on a ghost hunt through LA with Jack Osborne... oh, and did we mention the time traveling?

JOSH GATES TONIGHT returned for a new season on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery. Upcoming guests in the new season include Evangeline Lilly, LeVar Burton and more. In addition, Josh will also give exclusive insight into his Expedition Unknown and Expedition X adventures. In the season opener, "Gates Goes Underground," Josh digs into underground mysteries with Evangeline Lily from ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, EXPEDITION X's Phil Torres and Jessica Chobot and THE SOPRANOS' villain Joe Pantoliano. Josh hits the track to take on discovery+'s BABY DRIVERS.
