Plot Synopsis

Host Kimberly Schlapman, a founding member of the country band Little Big Town, travels across the United States to discover America's best local foods, ingredients and chefs, and then returns to her Nashville kitchen, where she folds her newly gained knowledge into her traditional family recipes. Plus, many of Kimberly's friends stop by her kitchen to chop and chat. In each 30-minute episode, Kimberly goes on one adventure, including: a lobster adventure where she learns about this crustacean from lobsterman Captain Jim Dow and Sharon Gilley of the famous Thurston's Lobster Pound, before she returns to Nashville to make lobster casserole and then dessert with band mate Karen Fairchild; a trip to Milwaukee where she visits a chicken farm, then making simply Southern fried chicken with Lauren Alaina; a journey to visit Pitmaster General Rodney Scott to learn about BBQ, returning home to make South Carolina-style BBQ pork; a sojourn to meet Paula Haney, pie princess and the owner and baker of Hoosier Mama Pie Company, then creating one sweet and one savory pie at home; a tour of historic Charleston, where she learned to make the Dish of Charleston from Miss Nathalie Dupree, returning home to cook shrimp & grit cakes paired with heirloom tomato salad and zippy peach sparkler; and a trip to meet champion pitmaster Craig Sharry to learn about making award-winning barbecued brisket using his signature Texas Pepper Jelly. Season 2, which premiered on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1pm ET/PT on GAC, featured these guests: Craig Morgan, Martina McBride, Ashton Shepherd, Jerrod Niemann, Josh Turner and more.

KIMBERLY'S SIMPLY SOUTHERN returned for its third season on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 4pm ET/PT on GAC. In the Season 3 premiere, Kimberly's Georgia hometown is throwing a very special event in her honor. But before she walks down memory lane, Kimberly takes her daddy along on a detour to an award-winning honey farm, where they get a tutorial of the process from comb to bottle and come face to face with millions of talented worker bees. Back in Nashville, Kimberly cooks up a menu of both sweet and savory dishes that has Amy Grant making a beeline for the kitchen. Additional guests in Season 3 include Jewel, Wynonna Judd, Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott, Billy Currington, Kix Brooks and Keifer and Shawna Thompson of Thompson Square. Plus, Kimberly's closest family and friends return in Season 3, including her husband Steve, their daughter Daisy Pearl, and her fellow bandmates from Little Big Town: Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet.
