Plot Synopsis
Created by Dan Harmon, KRAPOPOLIS is a half-hour animated comedy series, set in mythical ancient Greece, that tells the story of a dysfunctional family of humans, gods and monsters trying to run one of the world's first cities, while also trying their best to not kill each other in the process. The series centers on a flawed family of humans, gods, and monsters attempting to guide humanity out of the savage wilderness and into a new lifestyle experiment they're calling "civilization." Characters include:
Tyrannis, the mortal son of a goddess. He's the self-involved, narcissistic King of Krapopolis trying to make do in a city that lives up to its name.
Deliria, Tyrannis' mother, goddess of self-destruction and questionable choices. Deliria is as petty as she is powerful, and only seems interested in defending civilization if it means she'll get more worshipers out of it than her frenemies up on Mt. Olympus.
Shlub, Tyrannis' father, a mantitaur (half centaur [horse + human], half manticore [lion + human + scorpion]). He's the self-described life of the orgy. A true pleasure seeker who thinks that everyone should just chill out and, if they need him for anything, he'll be down at the bar.
Stupendous, Tyrannis' half-sister, daughter of Deliria and a cyclops.
Hippocampus, Tyrannis' half-brother, offspring of Shlub and a mermaid, and, obviously, a hot mess, biologically speaking.
KRAPOPOLIS premiered with two new episodes on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT. In the series opener, "All Hail the Goddess of Likeability" (8pm), Asskill threatens to attack Krapopolis, Tyrannis tries to use diplomacy to stop him. Deliria decides to build a temple to herself. Stupendous and Hippocampus give a trojan horse to the Asskillians. Then, in the night's second episode, "The Stuperbowl" (8:30pm), Tyrannis hosts other kings for a series of games in Krapopolis where Stupendous shines. Deliria makes the games about herself. Hippocampus and Schlub track and catch the city's first serial killer. After a three-week break, KRAPOPOLIS returned for its winter premiere on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 8:30pm ET/PT on FOX. In the mid-season debut, "Buy Low, Sell Ty," with Tyrannis' support, Hippocampus overcomes his imposter syndrome and wins first prize for his invention at Hephaestus-Con, only to learn that Hephaestus selected him for his looks, not his intellect. Rebranding her image into the 'goddess of no hangovers', Deliria unintentionally starts a city-wide drunken riot while Shlub watches, afraid to confront her. Season 1 guest voices are: Stephanie Beatriz, Yvette Nicole Brown as Herophile, Steve Buscemi, David Cross, Keith David as Asskill, Daveed Diggs as Carrots, Will Forte, Dave Franco, Chris Hardwick, Jane Lynch, Joel McHale, Tim Meadows, Bobby Moynihan, Jim Rash, Rob Riggle, Tim Robinson, Susan Sarandon, Ben Stiller, Michael Urie as Hermes, Alanna Ubach, and Amber Stevens West as Athena.
