Plot Synopsis

In this reality/educational program, animal trainer Brandon McMillan works at his Lucky Dog Ranch, where he rescues hard-to-love and untrained dogs and transforms them into perfect pets to be adopted by families. In each 30-minute episode, McMillan rescues one dog, placing the pooch with a new family, including Willie, a Tibetan Terrier who makes a big splash with his new family. This series premiered as part of CBS/Litton Entertainment's three-hour educational/informational programming block on Saturday mornings, branded "The CBS Dream Team, It's Epic!," which is targeted at 13-to-16-year-old viewers. In addition to airing on CBS, this programming block is available on American bases in more than 175 countries on the American Forces Network (AFN), a worldwide radio and television broadcast network that airs programming to service members and their families at American bases as well as those serving on 140 U.S. Navy ships at sea. Plus, the programs will be accompanied by an enhanced audio description of the scenes in all episodes -- inserted during existing pauses in the show's audio track -- to better reach viewers with learning disabilities, autism, or visually impairments, as well as for English language learners.

LUCKY DOG returned for its third season on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 9am ET/PT as part of CBS' Saturday morning educational & informational programming block (check local listings). In the season opener, "Motu," a Maltese mix must hone its kayaking skills before starting a life with its new owner, Julie, a cancer survivor with a passion for the ocean.
