Plot Synopsis

Based on Richard Russo's 1987 novel, "Straight Man," LUCKY HANK is a one-hour dramedy series that's set at Railton College in the Pennsylvania rust belt, where William Henry Devereaux, Jr. is the unlikely chairman of the English department at this badly underfunded college. Hank grows so frustrated with the school that he rants against Railton College, calling it "Mediocrity's Capitol," and the administration is pressured to fire him. LUCKY HANK made its debut on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on AMC, with a simulcast on AMC+, BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV.
