Plot Synopsis

A live-action adaptation of the popular Marvel comic, MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER is a coming-of-age story that centers on Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, who come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. Tandy is a once privileged little girl, who watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life-changing event. As a young man Tyrone wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless, but when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. When he meets a girl named Tandy his life changes forever. The duo are joined by: Melissa Bowen, Tandy's mom, who is the eternal optimist despite the struggles to adapt to her new existence; Tyrone's mother, Adina Johnson, who invests every aspect of her being into giving her son the life she believes he deserves -- but she props up and protects Tyrone so much she almost forgets to love him; Tyrone's working-class father, Otis Johnson, who trudges through his desk job to keep his family safe and happy, doing what he can to ensure his son will grow up to be a great man; Liam, a salt-of-the-earth townie; who operates as Tandy's partner in crime while moonlighting as her boyfriend; Dr. Bernard Sanjo, an emotional cornerstone in Tyrone's life; Detective Connors, a contradiction of a man embracing an intimidating persona that overcompensates for a secret he keeps close to the vest; and Brigid O'Reilly, a detective with hardened New York sensibilities who believes no one is above the law, including other cops. The story of CLOAK & DAGGER begins with Tandy (aka Dagger) and Tyrone (aka Cloak) finding themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. The only constant in their lives is danger and each other. They try to grasp what has happened to them with their new-found powers, while Tandy's past catches up with her and Tyrone becomes consumed with revenge. Meanwhile, Detective Brigid O'Reilly works an interesting case that has ties to Tandy. Although Tandy is on the run as O'Reilly closes in on her, the detective may not be after her for the reasons Tandy thinks. Tyrone is desperate for answers and turns to Evita and her Auntie Clarisse, a Voodoo priestess, for help.

MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER returned for its second season on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 8-10pm ET/PT, as Freeform premiered back-to-back new episodes: "Restless Energy" (8pm): Now living very different lives, Tyrone and Tandy try to stay under the wire while still honing their powers. After coming to terms with their destiny, the two now find it difficult to just stand by and do nothing while bad things continue to happen throughout the city. Meanwhile, Brigid is struggling with her recovery. "White Lines" (9pm): Desperate to help, but only finding they cause more problems than solving them, Tyrone and Tandy continue to struggle with their situation. What is the point of having superpowers if you only seem to make things worse?

On Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT, Freeform premiered the Season 2 finale of MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER. In the season ender, "Level Up," Tyrone and Tandy head to the Loa dimension to stop the evil force threatening New Orleans. To finally put an end to it, they must come face to face with their own personal issues that have been holding them back. Meanwhile, Mayhem and Evita do their best to hold off the dangers in the real dimension.
