Plot Synopsis
Created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan and series star Hugh Dillon, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN follows the McLusky family -- power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Brothers Mitch and Mike McLusky navigate Kingstown, home to multiple prisons, as they act as the liaisons between prisoners and the community. When a young guard, Sam, is set up to deliver a letter for a prisoner, Mike works to get him off the hook. Later, local gang leader Bunny is upset when one of his guys gets taken off the yard, so Mike brokers a deal -- and is later visited by two FBI agents whom Mitch worked for. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither. The first two episodes of MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN dropped on Sunday, November 14, 2021 on Paramount+, with the first episode making its linear television debut later that day at 9pm ET/PT on Paramount.
MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN returned for its second season on Sunday, January 15, 2023 on Paramount+. The new season continues to follow the McLusky family, tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality. In the wake of the Kingstown Prison riot, violence and chaos ensue in the newly formed tent city. Mike and Bunny discuss what must be done to solve the leadership void on the inside. Kyle begins his new job with the Michigan State Police.
