Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Jameela Jamil with The Tenderloins -- Brian 'Q' Quinn, James 'Murr' Murray, Joe Gatto & Sal Vulcano -- as recurring panelists, THE MISERY INDEX is a half-hour comedy game show, where contestants can make a fortune out of other people's MIS-fortune. This series, inspired by the card game "Sh*t Happens," features two teams, each consisting of one contestant and two Tenderloins. Teams compete against each other by attempting to determine the ranking of hilarious and miserable real-life events on a scale of 1-100 based on our Misery Index, a ranking system created by a team of therapists. For example, is getting a third degree burn worse than seeing your father naked? Is it worse than dropping your phone in the toilet? THE MISERY INDEX premiered on Monday, October 22, 2019 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as TBS debuted back-to-back episodes.

THE MISERY INDEX returned for its second season on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 10:30pm ET/PT on TBS, with host Jameela Jamil returning alongside the stars of IMPRACTICAL JOKERS. In the season opener, "When We Smash," Joe and Q "make love", the crew proves why online dating is dead, and surgery leaves a man with a really teenie weenie. An office flasher and a clumsy partier battle to be masters of misery, in hopes of winning the $30,000 grand prize. After a three-month break, THE MISERY INDEX returned with new episodes on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 10:30pm ET/PT on TBS. In the fall premiere, "Chicken, Spaghetti and Sex," the most disgusting house guests ever, a loser dad uses cookie money for an erotic massage and the Tenderloins go full-Italian as two contestants duke it out for $30K.

The third season of THE MISERY INDEX premiered on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10:30pm ET/PT on TBS. Jameela Jamil returns as the show's host with Brian "Q" Quinn, James "Murr" Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano starring as recurring panelists. Season 3 features special appearances from celebrity guests including Travis Kelce, Joel McHale and All Elite Wrestling's Jon Moxley. In the season opener, "Eat My Pants!," teams compete against each other by attempting to determine the ranking of hilarious and miserable real-life events -- from getting fired to accidentally sexting your grandfather -- on a scale of 1-100.
