Plot Synopsis

MLB SUNDAY LEADOFF is a package of Major League Baseball games on Sundays, which are broadcast live on Peacock with first pitch a a time that's earlier than normal. On each of Peacock's 18 Sundays in 2022, the streaming service is the exclusive home of live MLB action until 1:30pm ET, when the remainder of the day's schedule begins. Start time for the first six Sunday games is 11:30am ET, and the remaining 12 games begin at Noon ET. Play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti is joined each week by local analysts from the participating teams. Ahmed Fareed is the pre- and postgame host of MLB SUNDAY LEADOFF and also serves as the sideline reporter. For the first game, Benetti is joined by analysts Steve Stone and Kevin Youkilis, and legendary baseball announcer Vin Scully voices the MLB SUNDAY LEADOFF show open.

For the 2023 season -- beginning on Sunday, April 23 with the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies hosting the Colorado Rockies at 12:05pm ET from Citizens Bank Park -- Peacock streams an NBC Sports-produced baseball game live in 19 of 20 weeks. Each game features NBC Sports-produced pre- and post-game shows on Peacock. On each of the 19 Sundays that Peacock presents a game, it will be scheduled as the exclusive home of live MLB action until 1:35pm ET that day, when the remainder of the day's schedule will begin. The package includes start times of 11:35am ET (six games), 12:05pm ET (10 games), and 1:05pm ET (three games).
