Plot Synopsis

Hosted by John Davis, MOTORWEEK is television's longest running automotive series, best known for its Road Test reviews, as the program evaluates more than 150 cars and trucks each season based on factors mattering most to consumers: price, practicality, performance and fuel efficiency. Plus, MOTORWEEK's team of reporters and photographers travel the world covering auto shows and new vehicle launches, and provide content for regular segments like: "Goss' Garage," where master technician Pat Goss helps viewers keep their cars on the road and out of the garage with vehicle repair and maintenance tips; "FYI," with reporter Yolanda Vazquez giving consumers the inside track on in-depth automotive information; "Over the Edge," as Steven Chupnick tracks down off-the-wall vehicles in the auto world; "Gear," with Chupnick and Ben Davis digging up the hottest auto accessories and the hippest apparel; and "Two Wheelin'," where correspondent Brian Robinson reviews the latest motorcycles and scooters, testing them on the street and on the track. Season 34 of MOTORWEEK premiered on public television stations nationwide beginning Friday, September 5, 2014 (check local listings for days and times). The season premiere featured the 2015 BMW i8 advanced hybrid, the compact 2015 Lincoln MKC utility, the 700-plus horsepower 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, along with the all-new 2015 Acura TLX. Other highlights from MOTORWEEK's new season include: reports about advanced functions such as Collision Mitigation, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and other driver aids that are a step towards cars that drive themselves; a new low-speed barrier test, which was created to measure effectiveness of automatic braking systems on cars; and more road test reviews of new cars, like the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, designed and engineered to be the fastest street-legal Camaro ever built, and the new 2015 Lexus NX, the brand's first compact luxury crossover.

Season 35 of MOTORWEEK premieres on public television stations across the country on Saturday, September 12, 2015 (check local listings for station and time). Episodes of the new season explore what the producers call the 21st century revolution of the car that includes such developments as self-driving technologies and the widespread use of electric, natural gas, and even hydrogen to power automobiles. Plus, the new season draws parallels from the past with on-air retrospectives dating back to the '80s. The series will also pause from time to time to look back at how far the "family car" has come. Creator, host, and Senior Executive Producer John Davis will again lead a team of on-air reporters in rigorously testing and evaluating new vehicles and assessing cars' performance, practicality, efficiency, and safety.
