Plot Synopsis

Martin is living a relatively happy life as a solicitor, husband to Jen, father to Dan, and best friends to Patrick and Carl. That is, until Carl throws himself under a train, setting off a disastrous sequence of events. At Carl's funeral, Jen confesses to Martin that she's been sleeping with his recently deceased best friend. As Martin and Jen struggle to keep their marriage together, Patrick "helps" Martin by reintroducing him -- very briefly -- to the single life, fueled by pizza and beer. Meanwhile, Jen receives support and advice from her best friend Liz, who is hooking up with Patrick's boss even though she's Patrick's former fiancee. When Jen and Martin try to work through their differences in therapy, they have setbacks when they struggle to make a baby and when Martin loses his job. DirecTV aired the U.S. premiere of MUTUAL FRIENDS on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 10pm on The 101 Network.
