Plot Synopsis
Using archival footage, animation, re-creations and first-person interviews with historians, icons, educators and experts, ORIGINAL SIN: SEX reveals how sex has changed the world -- and will continue to transform how we live. This six-part series explores how sex is increasingly permeating contemporary cultures around the world, shaping lives by becoming more visible via the Internet, advertising, education and the media. Each one-hour episode focuses on a different theme, including: "Hi-Tech Sex," which presents the technologies revolutionizing people's relationship with sex; "Government in the Bedroom," which chronicles how lawmakers try to regulate humanity's most intimate behavior; "Sex Ed Wars," which explores the controversial and shocking history of sex education, revealing just how much politics and culture influence what we teach -- or don't teach -- about sex; and more previously taboo topics about sex. Interviewees include: Dr. Drew Pinsky, Addiction Specialist; RuPaul Charles, Supermodel; Margaret Cho, Comedian and Actress; Jerry Springer, Host of THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW; Andy Cohen, TV Host; Geena Rocero, Trans Activist and Model; Larry Flynt, Founder of Hustler; Ravi Patel, Actor and Director; Michele Goodwin, Chancellor's Professor of Law at UC Irvine; author David Eisenbach, PhD; Dr. Ruth, Sex Therapist; Ann Coulter, Political Commentator; Tristan Taormino, Sex Expert; Nina Hartley, Veteran Porn Actress; Helen Fisher, Biological Anthropologst; Author Whitney Strub, PhD; and many more celebs and experts.
